Here is a beautiful & rare 1979 Ibanez MC-400 "Musician" in the dark stain DS finish with gold hardware, pearl tuners, and all the switching options you could ask for! (Double Coil, Single Coil, and Out-of-Phase Switching)
The Musician
series including the MC200, MC300, MC350, MC400 and MC500 are highly
coveted today for their scarcity, their top quality workmanship,
exceptional sustain and playability, and gorgeous wood figuring. The top
and back of the body are highly figured ash layered on a mahogany core.
It is a neck-through design with a maple/walnut neck and an ash overlay
on the headstock. The 24 fret fretboard is nice, dark rosewood with
colorful abalone dot markers.
The
guitar is in really nice aesthetic condition and excellent functional
condition. Seems all original, except for the case? The guitar looks beautiful overall
but has some cosmetic flaws which keeps it from being "Mint", even
though it looks very good. There are a few small impressions and dings in the finish on the
body top, back, and sides and on the edges of the headstock.
The plating on the hardware is original gold and includes the original back plate reading: "Built by the proud craftsmen of Ibanez, Japan"
