Selling my 1975 Roland System-104 vintage analog sequencer module in near-mint
condition. It is very clean and a domestic voltage synth (117volts), so no converter required in the USA.
ABOUT THE SYSTEM-104: The System-104 module was part of the larger System-100 semi-modular analog synth. It shares the same knobs, sliders, and end caps the other modules in the series. The Human League famously used this sequencer on their Travelogue and Reproduction albums. It can be synced to a trigger input, and the second row can dictate the timing of the first row, resulting in any sequence with different note lengths you can think up. You can also continue the sequencing from the first row to the second row, making it quite flexible. You can also adjust the gate so that it is longer or shorter. It can be used to trigger most vintage Roland and ARP synthesizers, including the ARP 2600, and with the right s-trig cable, Moog.
FUNCTIONALITY:
No
double-triggering of switches.
All knobs move smoothly with no dead spots. Everything works as it
should. No crackly pots. All
knobs/pots/sliders/switches/LED's function
as they should. The pots are smooth and have that as-new resistance when you turn them. It is calibrated and working as it should. All functions work properly. It is a
117volt sequencer, made and sold for the North American market.
APPEARANCE:
The
physical
appearance is extremely clean. On most System-104's, the grey buttons show sun damage, and appear yellow. These buttons are the original gray, and look awesome. This is a collector's quality sequencer. The face is practically flawless with only a couple tiny marks.
The knob inserts are very shiny and clean. The aluminum side panels are very clean, as well as the tolex material and black plastic insert. The
case is nearly
flawless top and back, and super
clean inside and out. Side panels are clean as well. See photos for
exact description. This is one of the (if not the) cleanest System-104's for
sale
right now and is priced accordingly.
INCLUDED:
Included
is the System-104 and power cord (attached). Also included is the rare
original Roland box, 117volt branded Roland tag, case foam and inserts to protect it. Box is not perfect, but is very rare, and protects the sequencer well.
Overall, a
very nice and
clean System-104 in perfect working condition. Will be double-boxed, packed carefully
and shipped promptly with full insurance. Ships to the lower 48 states. I
prefer local pickup for such a large, fragile item, but due to PayPal
restrictions, I will only accept
cash or wire transfer for local pickup.
ABOUT ANALOG KALAMAZOO: For
the past 25 years (when I haven't been making music) I have spent my
spare time scouring the Internet and pawnshops around the world
collecting, repairing, and maintaining only the most pristine examples
of each
piece of gear I could find. I have driven (and flown) many miles to find
the best examples for my collection. My interests include vintage
synthesizers, drum machines, effects, guitars, and basses, with a focus
on the "golden era" for each category. Each piece has been meticulously
maintained, serviced,
and used in my air conditioned, non-smoking, fully functioning recording
studio. I have recently decided to downsize and streamline my studio by
selling off key pieces of gear, some of which are nearly
unobtainable in such pristine, fully-functioning condition. I have been
buying and selling gear since the mid-90's, with a 100% feedback rating
on the main auction sites. I pride myself on my packaging skills and
have
received positive feedback for the same.
