About This Listing

Hi. I'm offering my System 100 Model 101. Purchased in 2016, serviced in 2017 at SwitchedOn (See invoice) in Austin. Moved once in bubble wrap and used only in a dry smoke free studio. This thing is a beast and in very good condition. There are a few age spots and as usual for a 50 year old synth, some small areas of the surface paint scratched but all are noted in the photos. I would say the sliders are a little stiff and could use a refresh but they don't affect performance and are not scratchy. See video for functionality. It receives CV and gate like a champ.

As you know with a synth of this age and value it likely needs a tune up every 5-6 years or so. Based on the last servicing it's due for one. Pricing reflects that. You get it done and you have an amazing synth. There are no qualified techs close to my location.

Here are the details, but you already know them:

The 101 is a self-contained semi-modular synthesizer with a 37-note (F-F) keyboard. It features an ADSR, LFO, Portamento, a VCO (with pulse width modulation and a tuning knob marked in Hz from 10Hz to 10kHz), white or pink noise, an audio mixer (with sliders for VCO, Noise, and External Input), a high-pass filter, a low-pass VCF, and a VCA with input for LFO. There are also buttons for auto-glide and manual-glide and an A-440Hz tuning oscillator. All of this in 21 sliders, five knobs, 14 mini-jack sockets, seven switches, and three 1/4" jacks (for headphone and high and low outputs).

Borrowed from another listing: Note: All Model 101 key contacts we have seen in recent times have been worn out to some degree. What this means is that, even after a proper cleaning, keys may sometimes re-trigger. If this bothers you, we recommend using an external CV and gate source such as another keyboard, a MIDI to CV converter, or a CV gate sequencer.

All sales final. Thanks.
