In the finest Soundgear tradition, the Ibanez Standard SR305EDX-FDM Frozen Gold Matte combines unrivalled playing comfort with a modern, versatile sound spectrum. Whilst the streamlined Nyatoh body and the slim maple-walnut neck contribute to the agile handling of this five-string electric bass, the redesigned PowerSpan humbuckers, combined with the active 3-band tone control, deliver versatile sounds for any musical genre. Last but not least, Ibanez completes the SR305EDX-FDM Frozen Gold Matte with reliable hardware, whose gold finish harmoniously complements the stylish flip-flip finish.

Thanks to the Nyatoh body in the characteristic, flowing Soundgear design, the SR305EDX bass nestles against the player, offering a stable playing position whether sitting with the instrument on the leg or standing with the strap. The four-bolt neck is crafted from five pieces of maple and walnut, whilst the flat ‘SR5’ profile sits comfortably in the hand and allows fast basslines and complex grooves to flow effortlessly on the jatoba fingerboard.

The Standard SR305EDX-FDM Frozen Gold Matte is fitted with Ibanez PowerSpan dual-coil pickups, developed specifically for this bass, which, in combination with the active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control, cover a wide range of sounds. Whether it’s transparent solo and jazz tones, a gritty rock growl or rich, punchy low-end from the deepest bass register, this five-string always has the right setting for every style and reproduces the low B string with precision.

Another distinctive feature of the Ibanez SR305EDX-FDM Frozen Gold Matte bass guitar is the Power-Tap switch, which switches the coils of both humbuckers from the powerful series configuration to tap or PowerTap mode. Whilst the former delivers authentic single-coil sounds with their characteristic clarity and tone definition, the latter complements this sound with a fundamental bass component.

Last but not least, Ibanez equips the Standard SR305EDX-FDM Frozen Gold Matte with reliable hardware in an elegant gold finish. On the body side, the strings rest on the tried-and-tested Accu-Cast B505 bridge, whose solid construction supports the bass guitar’s sustain-rich tone. The individually adjustable saddles for intonation and action, with a string spacing of 16.5 mm, provide ample room for clean picking even when playing vigorously, whilst the top-loading ball ends make changing strings significantly easier. Ibanez die-cast bass tuners on the headstock also keep the bass securely in the correct tuning.
