A nice example of this archtop. By spec, we believe this was made 1950 (see below from Epi records). Also see description from Vintage Guitar, regarding "in line" knobs available in 1950.
There is a somewhat worn area on the back and a very small section of binding has shrunk at the waist. Otherwise all binding appears to be stable and in good condition.
The 3 way switch works well but does not snap in to position like modern switches do, so don't be surprised.
The top portion of the bridge has been changed as shown in the pics.
There are general signs of wear but this is a solid example of a great guitar.
From Gruhns book:
Serial Numbers, 1944 to 1950, electric guitars only.
From 1944 to the end of 1950, specific 2-digit prefixes were assigned to individual electric models. The ending 3 digits indicated the actual production number. Unfortunately, there is no data available for exact production numbers/years at this time. This impressed serial number may be found on the back top of the peghead.

85 000 Zephyr DeLuxe Regent
From Vintage Guitar Magazine online:
In 1950, the Mastervoicer mounting plates were discontinued and the controls were installed in a line parallel to the strings. Control knobs were the familiar octagonal pointer knobs in white plastic. By 1951, the Volume and Tone controls were angled away from the strings.
