PRS McCarty 594 Trem Wood Library 10 Top – Private Stock Laguna (S/N: 0432124)

Signature Dealer Exclusive • Private Stock Color • 10 Top • McCarty III Pickups • Gen III Tremolo

This is a particularly special McCarty 594.

The PRS McCarty 594 Trem Wood Library, serial number 0432124, combines a 10 Top Flame Maple top with Private Stock Laguna, one of those PRS colors that can look dramatically different as the light moves across the figured maple.

More importantly, this guitar was part of a Signature Dealer Exclusive allocation, with availability allocated among Signature Dealers by territory in the United States and Canada.

Underneath the exceptional cosmetics is an equally serious specification: Pattern Vintage mahogany neck, bound East Indian rosewood fretboard, custom Outline Old School Birds, McCarty III pickups, individual push/pull coil taps, Gen III tremolo and Hybrid hardware.

It's a Wood Library 594 that brings vintage-inspired feel together with considerably more expressive range than a traditional stoptail McCarty.

Available now at Northeast Music Center with its PRS D1 Molded Hardshell Case.

Private Stock Laguna on a 10 Top

The first thing that separates this guitar from a standard McCarty 594 is impossible to miss.

Laguna.

Pulled from the PRS Private Stock color palette, Laguna gives this 10 Top Flame Maple an extraordinary combination of depth and movement.

And that's important with a PRS 10 Top.

The finish shouldn't overpower the maple underneath it—it should allow the figure to become part of the color itself. As the viewing angle changes, different areas of the flame emerge, creating the dimensional effect that makes a great PRS top so difficult to capture completely in photographs.

The Hybrid hardware provides a final bit of contrast and gives the guitar a sophisticated visual finish without competing with that remarkable top.

McCarty 594 Feel – With a Tremolo

The McCarty 594 platform has become one of PRS's most respected interpretations of vintage-inspired electric-guitar design.

Its 24.594" scale length creates a slightly more relaxed string feel than the 25" scale used on many other PRS models, while the substantial Pattern Vintage neck profile contributes to the familiar, confident feel players associate with the 594 family.

This particular guitar adds an important twist:

A PRS Gen III Tremolo.

That brings fluid vibrato and expressive pitch control into the McCarty 594 formula without giving up the fundamental character that makes the model so appealing.

For the player who loves the feel and control layout of a 594 but prefers the expressive possibilities of a tremolo-equipped guitar, this is a particularly interesting combination.

McCarty III Pickups & 594 Electronics

The electronics are equally compelling.

This Wood Library build uses PRS McCarty III Treble and Bass pickups with the traditional McCarty 594 control layout:

  • Two Volume Controls
  • Two Push/Pull Tone Controls
  • Individual Coil Taps
  • 3-Way Toggle on the Upper Bout

It's an intuitive arrangement with tremendous practical versatility.

The McCarty III pickups provide the full, articulate humbucker voice expected from the modern McCarty platform, while the independent push/pull controls allow either pickup to access a clearer tapped voice.

That gives the player considerably more control than a single master coil-tap system. Neck and bridge can be configured independently, making it easy to move between full humbuckers, alternate tapped textures and combinations of the two.

Custom Wood Library Appointments

The details continue beyond the top.

A mahogany Pattern Vintage neck is paired with a bound East Indian rosewood fretboard, maintaining the fundamental wood combination players associate with the McCarty family.

The inlays, however, are anything but standard.

Outline Old School Birds with Sparkle Mother-of-Pearl outlines and Pink Heart centers bring another level of Wood Library character to the guitar.

They're colorful enough to be distinctive, but subtle enough that the 10 Top Laguna finish remains the visual centerpiece.

The Northeast Music Center Perspective

This is where decades of experience with PRS and the Wood Library program become important.

A great Wood Library guitar shouldn't simply have more expensive specifications. The choices need to make sense together.

This one does.

The 10 Top Flame Maple and Private Stock Laguna immediately establish the visual identity. The Pattern Vintage mahogany neck and bound East Indian rosewood board preserve the fundamental McCarty character. McCarty III pickups and independent coil taps give the player tremendous tonal control. And the Gen III tremolo adds an expressive dimension not normally associated with a traditional 594.

Then there's the Signature Dealer Exclusive allocation, making this an even more interesting variation within the McCarty 594 family.

After more than three decades of working with PRS, Northeast Music Center has developed a particular appreciation for builds like this—guitars that are visually spectacular but still make complete sense as serious musical instruments.

That's what serial number 0432124 represents.

For the PRS collector, it offers a distinctive combination of Wood Library appointments, Private Stock color and limited Signature Dealer availability.

For the player, it's something even more important:

A McCarty 594 with McCarty III pickups, independent switching and a Gen III tremolo that was built to be played.

This exceptional PRS McCarty 594 Trem Wood Library 10 Top in Private Stock Laguna is available now at Northeast Music Center with its PRS D1 Molded Hardshell Case.
