Switched On is a synthesizer and musical electronics dream store. We stock used and vintage electronic instruments for the musician, producer, composer, and sound designer.
Our shop is full service!
We offer sales, repair & restoration, in-store sampling, consultation, appraisals of vintage/rare gear, and event sponsorship. We buy used gear, offer trades, and will consign your items too!
In our storefront you can view, play, or even sample any instrument on the floor. Our knowledgeable sales staff can educate you on the wide world of synthesis, new and old instruments, and audio production.
In the back we house our repair department where we staff a team of professional repair technicians to repair and restore your prized musical electronics. This includes synths, drum machines, samplers, tape machines, tube amps, pedals, effects processors, and more!
All of the vintage items we have for sale have seen recent service by our technicians. We offer a 14 day return policy on any item as well. You won't receive that degree of service with an online auction site!
Switched On is an oasis for electronic sounds. Our inventory aims to encompass the history of electronic production and its bright future.
Switched On opened in the Spring of 2010 with the vision of re-imagining the way a musical instrument shop can impact and enrich a community of talents. By offering a new, rare, and exotic palette of sounds we have created a space that allows creatives to explore and educate themselves in new ways.
Ever since musicians, producers, composers, and sound designers have come through the doors of Switched On.
Switched On recently won the "Best of Austin" award from the Austin Chronicle for the "Best Synthesizer Superstore".
Switched On has hosted and sponsored many local events to promote Austin's burgeoning synth, electronic, and experimental scene.
Switched On has collaborated with Moog Music on the curation of an all electronic showcase during the SXSW Music convention.

Switched On offers an 14-day return policy. Returns are only refundable as store credit. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs.
Used Items are guaranteed to function properly for 30 days after purchase, unless otherwise noted. In the event of electronic malfunction within the first 30 days, Switched On will repair the item at no additional charge.
Returned NEW items are subject to a 15% restocking fee and must include all original packaging.
