His 2024 release, Morgan | Husband | Feraud – A Soul in Time (Guitar One Records), featuring legends Gary Husband, Hadrien Feraud, and Eric Marienthal, was proudly on the ballot for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 67th Grammy Awards, and winner of the 2025 InterContinental Music Awards for Best Contemporary Instrumental Song; A Feather's Touch of his A Soul in Time album.
James was the founder, bandleader and the creative force behind San Diego’s Ghost Jazz Trio, whose 4-albums have received four consecutive nominations for Best Jazz Album of the Year by the San Diego Music Awards (2021–2024).
