Buying, selling , swapping and of course, playing finely crafted, "old-timey" guitars of every sort since 1962. My Dad, pictured ..may he rest in peace, was my teacher and mentor. .. He had been a fairly accomplished Jazz guitarist in Chicago during the "Prohibition Era." .. Disturbed by all the violence, he packed up his guitar and other necessities of life and moved to Oklahoma. He bought a quarter section, 160 Acre farm and devoted the rest of his life, devoted first to Mother Nature and all she yields in bounty. ..

He rarely played his guitar but was happy to get me started. He began teaching me in the Summer of 1961. After becoming fairly accomplished, I formed, managed and played in semi-professional bands from 1965 through 2012, in mostly what you'd call "bar bands." .. Looking back, I had all but forgotten the basics he taught me. But since retiring, I've gone "back to my first love," and that is, collecting, restoring, preserving and playing finely crafted acoustic guitars. .. I am well stricken in years, 72 years old, and now need to begin parting with my collection, as I can only play one guitar at a time. My "all-time" favorite guitar, for a whole host of reasons, is the Brazilian made Giannini classical acoustics. Tranquillo Giannini was an Italian emigrant, a gifted luthier. He established his business in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1900.
