Basically my goal has been to bring back the infamous/rare/forgotten gems, as well as the newest must try pedals, in a pedalboard friendly format. Also I add an original look to them that honours the original. The minimal styled pedals look great on a board with lots of over the top graphics (which are cool and all, but you know what I mean :) I do this at the best possible price I can, considering every part I use is bought in USD.

I’m also a graphic designer and always been a minimalist at heart. But every so often I’ll employ my graphics side and create something a little more busy. I just think that a minimal looking pedal gives a nice balance to a busy looking board. It lets it breath.

I am currently learning the fine art of acid etching enclosures which is exciting. So watch out for that.

Please don’t take this as whining, but most of my components come from abroad (unfortunately Canada doesn’t make components), and are dealt in US dollars only. No matter where they come from in the world. That and customs etc. makes this very hard to keep my pedal prices fair for me and for you guys (at the moment I’m paying approximately 1/3 more for components ).

Another similar popular Canadian builder compensates for this, and his prices are very very high comparatively. For instance his Benson is $200. He makes nice pedals too though. I except offers, but please keep in mind I keep my prices very low for a Canadian builder. I also eat some of the shipping cost for you. I try to keep everyone happy. I just love building you guys pedals, it’s super gratifying being a pedal nerd and all, so I eat some costs for ya. Rarebird effects builds in a very meticulous way, using only high quality tested components most often exceeding the originals quality. I build with top notch, proven pcb’s and professional build quality. I put my all into every circuit using all through-hole components. No detail is too small, and my love of these stomp boxes comes through in every build. Let me know if you really want something, and it’s not on my page. I’m always open to suggestions/feedback. I have done my fair share of custom work as well. I do have my limits though of what can be done for a reasonable price for you of course, building “one offs” and all. Just throw me your idea, and I’ll let you know. If I already have the materials then the cost will be much lower. I have a lot of PCB’s stored away, so can often make them right away. I have a pretty large collection, so if one you are “watching” disappears and is sold I probably have another pcb to build for you asap, I also carry some more “fringy” circuits too, Independent builders have the best bang for your buck going. I’m a one man band that is easy to communicate with. You get that personal touch. I really appreciate every one of you guys. Keep playing and have FUN! Support the little guys out there. You will often find superior quality/cheaper prices and you are supporting a builder that is usually working on their completely original circuits, and putting a large chunk of any “profit” right back in to the process of moving forward. And when something is a clone I tell you it is. There are so so many builders out there taking existing circuits and slapping their own name on their pedals. …. It makes my day when I sell a pedal. Or receive feedback. That and sometimes getting a very excited player send me a pic of my build on their board. That’s what I live for doing this crazy pedal thing haha. Have fun out there! Cheers!
