I'm Russ and I have been involved in the SR World since being a partner in a DJ company (we built from scratch) in 1988-1991 (while in college). I worked for (then started) a few high tech companies in the 90s, then opened Weird Sound Studio in Austin TX in 2003 (in Stevie Ray's last house he lived in).

Weird Sound has demonstrated, configured, and sold (better) garage set-ups to large format, concert scale SR systems -- from TX up to MN and in between since 2003. Most of our biz has been by referral. We've integrated turn-key systems in several venues in the US repping several brands like BassMaxx where we partnered with them manufacturing specialized, concert grade loudspeakers (we also helped them sell in the US and abroad).

Weird Sound closed the studio after a few years and we relocated to the Twins, MN where we leased our GL3300 to the famous Bunkers (Prince's hang out when in town) and also helped local bars and bands for a few years there. Eventually we landed in the middle of East Kansas where our profile has been more part-time, helping regional bands and venues with integration and limited system sales/support.

We've also owned a medium sized production company since 2005 which we recently sold-off part of. But we have a 5k PA system (no lights, no stage - just the PA) we rent to regional production companies while we always seem to have some remaining NOS (New Old Stock), and better used inventory I post from time-to-time... as we slowly wind down a lifetime in high-end pro audio.
