Pete Schmidt and Steve Jonas had been long time friends and musical partners well before they set out to create a business built on one premise: Create exceptional quality musical instrument accessories that musicians could afford.
In 2009, Pete and Steve went on an extended trip to South America in search of a the best place to create leather and fabric products based on the availability of unique leathers and fabrics, and a culture of highly skilled artisans. It wasn't long before Peru came out on top as the best place to create their exceptional products. While Steve went back home to the US to work on designs and business administration, Pete spent most of his time in Peru, tirelessly searching for new materials and working closely with a small group of highly skilled artisans to handcraft each product. Pete still spends the majority of his time in Peru working with that same group of artisans. Pete cares about the artisans he works with as much as he does for the quality of the products.
