Owner, Michael Newell is a 1980 graduate of Boston's Berklee College of Music. After touring with top 40 and show bands, he settled in Greenwood, SC in 1983 and began a career in teaching guitar. In 1985, Newell's Music was founded which combined musical instruction with sales of high quality musical instruments to his students and to established musicians throughout the region. Although the store and teaching facilities have expanded since those humble beginnings, the mission of providing the highest quality musical instruments and expert music instruction remains the top priority. To this day, Newell's Music continues to positively impact the surrounding community and remains a leader among music stores in the region.
