About Luthier's Workshop

Luthier’s Workshop is the home of Jasper Guitar Company and a premier Wisconsin destination for repairing and selling guitars, banjos, ukuleles, and mandolins. We are also a Taylor and Eastman dealer with dozens of models on display, as well as a certified repair center for Taylor guitars.

For those unfamiliar, the term "luthier" stems from the French word luth, meaning "lute". It's essentially the old-world name for a lute maker, though the definition has broadened over the years to encompass other stringed instruments in the lute family. A luthier's craft, or "lutherie", is commonly divided into two main categories- makers of stringed instruments that are plucked or strummed and makers of stringed instruments that are played with a bow. At Luthier’s Workshop, we repair the plucked or strummed stringed instruments, more specifically those with frets along the neck.

Our resident luthier, Anthony “Tony” Louscher, presents a rich history of industry experience. Repairing guitars since 1972, Tony has worked for industry leaders, such as the two California-based companies Taylor Guitars, as one of the first four employees, and Alembic Guitars. Over the years, Tony has enjoyed the patronage of hundreds of loyal performers, musicians, and even other music stores, providing his high-quality guitar repair skills to clients throughout Northeast and Central Wisconsin and as far away as Chicago and the West Coast. Restorations and repair of valuable, vintage stringed instruments has long been one of Tony’s specialties. However, the main body of his repair expertise varies greatly, from broken necks and headstocks to finishes, neck resets, fret work, and much more.

While we sell a wide selection of products here on Reverb, including vintage and modern guitars, amplifiers, effects pedals, and the occasional part or accessory, the majority of our stock is in-store at our shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Give us a call or stop on in… you’ll be glad you did.
