LMI Transformers and PCBs

Langston Masingale's history and relationship with transformers is unique. From working alongside Jim Jacobsen at JJ Audio, to receiving mentorship from Tom Reichenbach (Cinemag)and Oliver Archut (AMI), to inventing the transformers and circuit the world calls Zulu at Handsome Audio, Langston's personal connection to transformer metallurgy is both romantic and pragmatic. Learning from some of the now departed legends of our time, Langston decided to revisit some of the old designs of yore and challenge himself to solve the same problems that began before the existence of the transistor. Instead of attempting to create transformers that looked like the originals, Langston presented the idea of examining what was valid and worthwhile about the newer offerings in the transformer world.  By examining what could be currently done, versus what was needed, Langston developed an entire line of sonically superior and affordable transformers that could in many ways surpass the originals while offering newfound flexibility and increased range of applications. LMI is home to this new exciting development and is already expanding its network of partnerships, along with a new customer base of DIYers and professional builders alike!
