General Terms
Items must be returned in original, as-shipped condition with all original packaging and no signs of use. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping costs unless the item was not received as described.
Special Conditions
STATEMENT OF WARRANTY AND COVERAGES
We (Kinsley Custom Guitars, KCG), will repair or replace, at our discretion, any guitar pickup bearing the KCG name that is found to have a manufacturers defect within 30 days of purchase. This warranty only applies to the initial purchaser and coverage does not transfer to subsequent owners. PROOF OF PURCHASE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL LIMITED WARRANTY CLAIMS. Your proof of purchase is your receipt from your authorized dealer or invoice from Kinsley Custom Guitars.
What is Covered:
Damages that occurred during shipping
DOA (dead on arrival) pickups
A break in coil wire reducing or eliminating output that is not caused by external damages (except in the event of shipping damages)
If the pickup becomes microphonic through normal use
What is not covered:
Damages incurred due to: using pickup for any purpose other than as a guitar pickup (misuse), installation of the pickup, dismantling the pickup, or dropping the pickup whether or not it is installed in a guitar.
Water damages, including but not limited to: spilling any form of liquid on the pickup or submersion of the pickup in any form of liquid, whether or not the pickup is installed in a guitar
Electrical damage, including but not limited to voltage surges resulting from lightning, power grid failure, “brown-out,” etc.
Loss of magnetic charge or reversal of polarity in the event that the pickup is exposed to a strong magnetic field.
Microphonics resulting from misuse, installation damage, dismantling of the pickup, or dropping the pickup whether or not it is installed in a guitar.
THE WARRANTY PERIOD
The 30 day limited warranty begins on the date that you order the pickup and will continue for 30 calendar days until 11:59 PM Mountain Time on the 30th day after the order. For example, if you buy your pickup on January 12, 2019, the warranty period will be in effect until February 10, 2019 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Proof of purchase is required for all limited warranty claims.
HOW TO FILE A CLAIM:
Shipping Damage/DOA Pickup Claims
In the event of shipping damage or DOA pickup, you must send your proof of purchase, photos of damages, and a description of the damage to [email protected] within 10 calendar days of receipt of the product. Failure to do so may void your warranty claim. At that point, we will, at our discretion, send a return label via email or regular mail for you to send the pickup back for repairs or replacement.
Workmanship Claims
For all other covered concerns within the warranty period, send an email with your proof of purchase to [email protected] with a description of your issue. At that point, we will, at our discretion, send a return label via email or regular mail for you to send the pickup back to us for repair or replacement.
DISCLAIMER
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, but you may have other rights provided by your state’s laws. Any statements contained within this limited warranty are void where prohibited by state law and the rest of the limited warranty remains in effect.
RESTRICTIONS
This limited warranty will become null and void in the case of any of the following:
The pickup has been disassembled in any way (including removal of metal cover on any pickup, removal of magnets, addition or removal of solder from any solder points on the pickup other than the ends of the lead wires to be soldered to the guitar’s electronics, removal of pole pieces, removal of any screws other than the height adjustment screws, etc).
The pickup’s serial number has been defaced or is unable to be read for any reason.
The pickup is damaged due to accident (car accident, guitar gets dropped, etc), natural disaster (wildfire, flood, landslide, lightning strike, tornado, hurricane, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc), fire, nuclear strike, acts of God, or any other reason that is catastrophic in nature.
