FM Restorations is a new model for social entrepreneurship through musical instruments and equipment. Donated guitars and other gear get rejuvenated and made ready for sale. When an item sells, half the net proceeds go to Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation.

HOW TO DONATE
Send details and pictures of what you would like to donate for us to sell. Your item must be in reasonably good condition and have strong potential to be renovated and sold.
If we can accept it, you'll be responsible for packing and FedEx drop off -- FM Restorations will cover U.S. shipping to us.
Of course, equipment that is in ready-to-go condition will be most welcome too -- especially from professional musicians and public figures! For minimal-refurb-required donations, up to 80% of the sale proceeds will go to the benefiting organization. The rest supports the FM mission and operations.
OUR OPERATING MODEL: GOOD BUSINESS
Why does only half the net proceeds go to the social innovation organizations? For FM Restorations to work as a social business, it needs a sustainable model. The 50% of proceeds pays for shipping, any parts and labor needed to renovate and renew donated gear, as well as the work to list gear, manage inventory, work with donors and buyers and other operating overhead. This operating margin will then help us grow and generate more revenue to donate for the greater good. FM is a social enterprise, which means our mission is to do good in the world AND flourish as a small business.

As FM gains traction and we refine this model, donations might one day be tax deductible. The range of worthy causes or services that could benefit from these donations could also expand, with buyers and sellers being able to choose which they want to support.
ABOUT FM RESTORATIONS
The inspiration for FM Restorations is rooted in our experience building Automatic Jack’s Axe Shack on Reverb over the last three years. We’ve learned first hand that the Reverb difference is about community and trust. Buying and selling guitars and gear is more than just about online transactions or commerce. It’s about people, authenticity and shared passion. Music is, after all, an essential part of the art and culture of being human. It is about generosity of spirit, collaboration and blazing new paths.
Finally, the name of this project is meant to connect with its purpose as a new breed of social enterprise: high fidelity restorations and a higher objective than just profits. We hope you will join us in this new venture to give "good business" new meaning.
