Welcome to Crow Creek Fiddle Company! After acquiring an antique fiddle so I could learn to play I soon grew to love the instrument. Each morning I would look at my beautiful fiddle and consider how proud it's maker must have been. This was what got me curious as to how a fiddle was made. Upon some research I discovered the process and decided to give it a try. I purchased many books DVDs and used some internet resources to grow my knowledge. In 2019 I built my first one and have been constructing them ever since growing in skill and perfection with each one. I found it to be much more difficult than I first assumed taking an average of 200 hours to build one completely from scratch. Not only is the time a substantial investment but the cost of materials usually averages $650! I build all of my violins right in my home in rural Phillipsburg Kansas along the Crow Creek. I use the highest quality materials spruce taken from the high altitudes of the Alps for an even consistent grain, beautiful maple which is lightweight and strong, and the highest grade available of African ebony taken from the center of the trees for dark color and lightweight. The wood must be lightweight and graduated to exact specifications thinner is better for sound but too thin compromises strength. I use professional handmade strings on most of my instruments imported from Europe. I offer intermediate fiddles all the way up to the professional grade of instruments you hear on the radio. Each one is unique in color and design. Many people don't know that a Fiddle and a Violin are the same instrument it is just a matter of how you play it. General Terms
Items must be returned in original, as-shipped condition with all original packaging and no signs of use. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping costs unless the item was not received as described.
Special Conditions
I offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are for any reason at all unhappy with the product received, you may return it for a full refund (less a restocking fee if applicable). You must request the refund within 14 days of the products delivery. Once the refund has been approved you must provide a valid tracking number stating that the product is in transit or be sure the product is delivered within 14 days of refund approval. Failure to do so will communicate that you have given up on the return. If the product arrives after that timeframe a refund will not be issued. (I am willing to work with customers but as a small business I can't afford to have people request a refund but not ship it for 6 months)
The purpose of the restocking fee is to cover the cost to ship the product to the customer. The restocking fee will never be more than the actual cost of shipping, packaging, and insurance. The maximum restocking fee will be 15% but in many cases is much less. Listings sold as described are exempt from this policy and may not be returned.
All damaged or defective products must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. If you fail to report damage or defects within this timeframe you will not be eligible for a replacement or refund.
I would be happy to clarify any questions you may have about returns and am open to negotiating policies. Please don't hesitate to send a message. I desire to operate a customer friendly shop. These policies are just in place to insure I don't lose money on an order since I am a small business that tries to keep prices low.
CROW CREEK FIDDLES - RETURN POLICY:
I build each instrument under the brand Crow Creek Fiddles and stand behind them fully. If you are for any reason unhappy with one, I will give you a complete refund within fourteen days of purchase. I understand that on a high dollar instrument people want to hear and play the instrument before they commit to buying it. I am confident my instruments will meet your expectations for their price. I have had nothing but positive reviews from them. It costs $75-$150 to ship and insure one of my fiddles one way, but I will give you a 14-day trial period to try them out. If you decide it isn't a good fit, I will pay the full return shipping in the following states: Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, and Illinois. Any other state I will give you a full refund including the original shipping cost, but you (the buyer) will be responsible for the return shipping.
