Opening on the Russian River between 1968 and 1970, the original Primal Sound in Forestville CA was a metaphysical bookstore that carried LPs, musical instruments, slide whistles, kazoos, guitars, and featured a gallery of black light posters. It was part of a converted motel located on the upper floor. At that time as a keyboardist, our group played throughout the Bay Area including the Fillmore in San Francisco. Today, in Oceanside, CA, I continue writing, arranging and playing gigs at local breweries and restaurants. In the past, I've owned and tuned several Wurlitzer electric pianos, Fender Rhodes, a Lowery RMI, different acoustical piano uprights and grands, owned a first pro sampler Ensonique Mirage in 1984, and currently use both a vintage micro-Kurzweil, Roland FP3, Yamaha P-95, ND30, DGX650, and a DGX670 AI-Yamaha digital keyboards. After meeting expert tuners over the years, I learned the art of tuning from an eccentric Seven Day Adventist, and I work on, repairing, restringing, and tune acoustical grand, uprights, and other project pianos.
