I have a bunch of gear and every piece means something to me. Each of my instruments have a story and a memory attached to them but it dawned on me that I just cant keep everything! I literally don't have the space to store all this stuff so I decided I'd let some babies go. I remember buying my first "expensive" guitar. It was a '68 J-45 and cost fifteen hundred dollars!! I was 22 and just signed a record deal with ATO. $1,500 was the price of my rent in Brooklyn so I was super on the fence about making that purchase. I was on tour with Evan Dando at the time and I'll never forget, he said, "Dude, there's songs in there! You gotta get it. Every guitar has songs in there." That has always stuck with me and he was right! I wrote my first 3 albums on that thing. When I look around my studio and see all the awesome stuff I've acquired I can't help but notice the stuff that I'm not using to it's full potential. In an effort to clean house and make way for the new, I wanna pass these things on to fellow music makers that'll get some use out of the ones I'm not using. I'm hoping that these pieces will inspire someone out there that can pull some songs out. Thanks for checking out the stuff.
