I'm Andrew Brown and I run a small shop in Hyattsville, Maryland. I've made archtops, mandolins and ukeleles, and I specialize in making double basses (yep, the big ones). My approach is is to offer value. While I am building the business of a dealer (I've been buying and selling for years), you will get a solid instrument in every sense of the word at a price below other makers and sellers. I also offer a buy-back guarantee on instruments I've made for the purchase price minus a small percentage linked t the time it's been out of my shop.
One thing I hate is a long goodbye. I will kick sales items to the curb with a periodic price drop every two weeks or so, so stay plugged in to get real value for your money.
Personally, I'm a professional bassist with an academic background. I lived in Austria for many years before resettling in the DC 'burbs. In Vienna I studied with Ludwig Streicher, worked at a violin shop during the day and played at night, and earned my PhD in Music Acoustics in between.
