ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENT EXPERTISE
Seller of private-collection acoustic instruments since 2008, mostly premium guitars. Originally on eBay, earning top 5-star seller ratings. Recreational player since 1960's. Multiple styles and genres, but I concentrate on playing finger-style chord melodies.

Hand-built a premium OM acoustic guitar under the expert guidance of Frank Finocchio at his GuitarWorks studio in Easton, Pennsylvania in June 2008. Along with studying many luthier references and doing acoustic guitar setups since 2008, this 7-day training equipped me with the ability to "size up" and "set up" a guitar's playability with high precision (and patience).

I also created a related company that sold FLEA brand ukuleles (manufactured in USA by The Magic Fluke Company) on eBay and Amazon since 2010. True Joy Acoustics earned ample 5-star ratings and testimonials. More importantly, sales proceeds and sponsors helped donate many FLEA ukuleles to Music Therapy programs at leading pediatric hospitals over the course of 12 years.

BENEFITS OF BUYING PRE-OWNED GUITARS FROM AUTUMN ACOUSTICS
Shopping and playing acoustic instruments is lifelong adventure. No two instruments are exactly alike. Nuances exist from the start despite precise model specs, high grade tone woods, automated methods, luthier experience.

"Brand new" is not often "best" when it comes to finely crafted guitars. Age, weathering and "vibrant breathing" can reveal richer tone and character. I think of it like the color burst of Autumn leaves: new exciting hues form, other pigments are present all along and become unmasked as green fades. Instruments evolve at a much slower pace than leaves. Yet changes in wood, glue, finishes and how they interplay create discernible qualities as decades pass.

Another alluring quality of pre-owned instruments –– beyond lower price, unless vintage collectible –– is that guitar models and features come and go. What best suits our preferences and abilities may only exist in a historical model.

I scout each guitar with paradoxical intent: (1) love it for life, (2) move it on. It's not practical for me to keep every beautiful instrument I discover. Parting helps the next owner enjoy a flourishing instrument and enables me to keep the process going.

I have high selection and selling standards. Unless purchased brand new (rare), buyers receive a guitar in better condition than I found it. Not just natural bloom. I thoroughly inspect. Clean inside and out. Restring. Set action for best performance. Polish frets. Fingerboards stripped of residue and deeply conditioned. Saddles often upgraded to polished bone with precise intonation. Cases cleaned and conditioned.
