More About Astronauts Guitars
Astronauts Guitars on Reverb is the online branch of our Takadanobaba storefront — part of a small network of physical locations including Takadanobaba, Kanagawa, and Kan‑nana Komazawa.
We started as a parts brand, RetroTonePickups in 2007 and evolved into a full instrument workshop — opening our first Kanagawa workshop in 2013 and our Takadanobaba showcase workshop in 2019. Our Reverb shop serves as the export arm for international customers.
Because we originated as a workshop, we design and build our own Astronauts Guitars and perform professional servicing in‑house, as well as we provide a reliable after-sales service.
Our Takadanobaba tech, who also has an experience as a player, complete over 2,000 guitar and bass repairs/setups each year — bringing practical, stage‑proven work tailored to real playing needs to each instrument.
We carry Astronauts Guitars, F company, G company and other major makers, with a special focus on Japan‑vintage/made and bizarre/retro instruments that are hard to find elsewhere. These instruments are adjusted to retain their retro tone and character while achieving modern playability as much as possible.
We carefully assess each instrument and set fair, transparent prices to build buyer confidence.

The shipping fee you will check out with on the item page is reference price and may differ from the actual shipping cost (including Reverb and PayPal fees.) While the amounts are accurate for many countries, they may vary significantly for others. We appreciate your understanding.
The actual shipping cost will be calculated after your order and payment are processed. We will then refund or ask for the difference. We can also calculate the exact shipping cost before you place your order. Please feel free to contact us.

We do not accept returns except as stated below. All items are visually inspected, tested for functionality, and setup for playability by our professional repair tech before shipping.
Order cancellation — no contact:
- If the buyer is unresponsive for 7 days or more during the transaction, the order will be canceled and a refund issued minus Reverb and PayPal fees, any transaction fees, and applicable taxes.
Accepted cancellations / returns:
Cancellations or returns accepted only for:
- damage incurred during shipping, or
- the item materially not being as described.
Reporting shipping damage:
- If the package is visibly damaged on delivery, please refuse delivery or note the damage on the courier’s delivery receipt before signing and contact us immediately.
- If damage is found after opening, contact us within 72 hours with photos of the damaged item, the box, and all packaging materials (even if the outer box shows no damage).
Return shipping and condition:
- Please return the item in the same packaging and condition as shipped. Do not discard any packaging materials, manuals, papers, parts, or accessories. Protective films (e.g., on pickups, pickguard) must remain in place.
- A refund of the purchase price minus PayPal, bank, transaction fees, and original shipping costs will be issued once we receive the item in the same condition as shipped.
Other notes:
- Import duties and customs fees are the buyer’s responsibility — please check your country’s requirements.
- All items are also on sale in our physical shop in Takadanobaba and could sell before online purchase is completed.
