About this listing
Yamaha Recording Custom 5-pc (Rare) 14x24 (Rare) 16x18, (Rare) 10x14, 9x13 Updated September 30, 2026, now includes 16 x 16 no price increase.Early production year. Has the Stained rounded over bearing edge. Except for the 16 x 16I would give these 5 drums survivor status, And if I had to take a guess? on the life it lived,it would be one of little music making. When i took them in all four drums still had movers inventory sticker on them, most likely experienced a big move only to be stored away in attic or basement some where. the five drums have been disassembled, inspected and all parts and components giving a quick detail.Cherry lacquer on the 3 toms are in great shape has a few scuffs and light scratches through out. The condition of the lacquer on the top half of the bass drum have a little bit more wear and tear i.e. faints swirl scratches and scuffs. The chrome conditions on each drum very sum what. 13 and 14. The chrome condition are in good shape, the 18 inch floor tom lugs and hoops and bass drum Lugs and other parts have Moderate pitting on the chrome. Claw hooks look better. On intake, kit was missing vital counterparts necessary for immediate set up, i.e. floor tom legs, the swing down part of the bass drum spurs, and the Tom Holder. When those parts go missing it is a good indicator, Whoever moved it? wasn’t who was playing itCondition of the 16 x 16, Has maybe a little more wear and tear i.e. scratches, on intake was missing floor tom legs and eight tension rods. Which I found re placement for.
