Overview
Made for just a couple years, the Fender California Series was a joint effort between Fender's American and Mexican factories in 1997 and 1998. With the body carving and final assembly being done in California, these instruments made a brief trip to Mexico for finish and paint. The California Tele was also available in a "Fat" HS configuration with a maple fretboard.
