Overview
Made for just a couple years, the Fender California Series was a joint effort between Fender's American and Mexican factories in 1997 and 1998. With the body carving and final assembly being done in California, these instruments made a brief trip to Mexico for finish and paint. While this "Fat" HS pickup version only came with a maple fretboard, the standard version offered both maple and rosewood boards across all five finishes.
