Walrus Audio Releases the Gold Standard Fathom & Slö

A few months back, there was a startling discovery in the hills of Oklahoma, a Keeley Caverns Delay in a strange gold colorway. Today, out of a magic cauldron, a new gold release has emerged, even stranger than the first: a combined Fathom & Slö from Walrus Audio.

The inspired mashup of a pedal includes the Fathom Multi-Function Reverb with Hall, Plate, Lo-Fi and Sonar (Octave) settings, modulation, momentary bypass and momentary sustain on its right-hand side. The left contains the Slö Multi-Texture Reverb with Dark, Rise, and Dream ambient reverb modes.

You can choose to run the two halves in series or explore an additional feature: You can take your signal out from the Fathom, run in it through other effects, and input it back into the Slö side of the unit.

Like the limited-edition Caverns, this latest from Walrus sports a chassis with a powdered gold finish and is limited to just 196 units. So what exactly is going on here?

Reverb has partnered with some of the best pedal makers in the business to bring you the Gold Standard collection. Every 79 days (for gold's atomic number), exactly 196 pedals (for gold's atomic weight) will be available for one-time only through The Gold Standard Reverb Shop.

The first release was Keeley's Caverns, the second is Walrus' Fathom & Slö, and the third? You have 79 days to wait and find out.

Grab a Gold Standard Fathom & Slö or a Keeley Caverns now, and get excited for future gold-pedal-digging.
