Video: Ormsby Guitars HYPE GTR and TX GTR Demos

Ormsby Guitars—made by luthier Perry Ormsby in Perth, Australia—are wondrous instruments that make great use of exotic woods and groundbreaking multi-scale fingerboards.

For years, they've only been available through custom order, and, because of the high-demand and rarity, when used Ormsbys land on Reverb they sell quickly. In fact, when we looked at the fastest-selling brands on Reverb in March, the company ranked as number 10.

In 2016, Ormsby began to make its GTR production models. In the video above, you can see Ryan run through two of these 7-string production models: the HYPE GTR and the TX GTR. "Made for the modern metal musician," the guitars feature Hipshot hardware and Ormsby's custom-wound pickups.

The HYPE guitar has a 25.5"-27.8" fanned fret system, an Ormsby Nunchucker humbucking pickup in the neck and the company's De La Creme coil-splittable humbucker at the bridge.

Meanwhile, the TX model has a progressive Tele-style body, with an Old School Single Coil pickup at the neck and a PVH humbucker at the bridge. As you can hear, the TX is not only capable of djent-style riffage, but also sparkling clear country-style licks.

Be sure to watch the full demo above, and check out all the Ormsby guitars available on Reverb now.
