In what Neumann is hailing as “the return of a legend,” the company has released a reissue of its classic U 67 tube condenser microphone.
As one of the most popular mics in recording history, the original Neumann U 67 was used on countless timeless recordings. The vintage Neumanns that are still in use mostly reside in the world’s professional recording studios. This reissue, while still being sold for just under $7,000 USD, helps to make this premium microphone more widely available. (There are many original U 67s for sale on Reverb in excess of $10,000.)
The U 67s were reissued once before in the 1990s, and, it should be noted, those reissues are now worth the same as the originals. According to Neumann, this new U 67 Reissue is made to the “same exacting specifications” of the vintage mics, while using a new type of power supply in line with modern standards.
