In celebration of the newly launched Left-Handed Reverb, we partnered with our friends at Fuzzrocious to bring you the first ever stompbox made specifically for southpaw players: the Leftover Drive Left-Handed Overdrive. Today, Andy got to spend some time with it in the studio to see what it could do.
This newly thrown together overdrive/fuzz circuit is comprised of leftover parts from older Fuzzrocious circuits, built around the LM-386 (which stands for "Left Mostly") power chip. The left side features stacked controls—a sag and volume knob with a gain switch situated between them. Players can adjust the knobs and switch to the left for clean, high-gain tones at dimed volume, or turn the sag knob in the other direction for a glitchy, sputtery, and crunchy velcro-like sound.
Be sure to check out the full demo above to see what else this left-hand-loving fuzz box can do (and to see Andy playing lefty), and click here to put in your bid for the stompbox before the auction ends on Friday, April 6 at 2 p.m. CST.
Proceeds from the auction will go to support music education in Chicago through the Reverb Foundation.
