Video: EarthQuaker Devices Unveils the Space Spiral Modulated Delay

A fan favorite in the boutique pedal world, EarthQuaker Devices out of Akron, Ohio has announced their newest pedal for NAMM 2017 – the Space Spiral Modulated Delay. And we at Reverb were lucky enough to give it a try.

This lo-fi modulated delay joins the ranks of other popular offerings, like Chase Bliss Audio's Tonal Recall and Source Audio's Nemesis – both of which feature similar modulated delay settings. It's an all-analog pedal featuring 30-600ms of delay time with a variable waveshape LFO that affects the repeated signal from a triangle shape to a choppy square shape. Players can twist the Depth and Rate controls to modify and enhance the delay textures.

As Joe mentions in the video above, the Space Spiral Modulated Delay might not be for the player who is looking for more of a jack-of-all-trades sort of offering. But that being said, this pedal does exactly what it promises very well – it provides a deep, spacey, and harmonic delay suited for any player looking to expand their sonic capabilities.
