Video: Digging Into the Vintage-Inpsired WEM Copicat

The new WEM (Watkins Electric Music) Copicat is a boost pedal by Hiwatt that recreates the famous tape echo of the same name.

The Copicat tape delay was one of the first of its kind commercially available and helped shape the sound of '60s and '70s across genres. Today, the original pedal still garners famous fans like John Dwyer and Jeff Tweedy.

As of today, the classic tape echo preamp is now housed in an even more pedalboard-friendly enclosure than the original and tuned to the needs of the modern player. It also is exceedingly affordable at just $79.99 brand-new.
