It can be easy for beginner and even intermediate guitar players to get stuck doing the same things over and over in their playing once they get comfortable with a handful of go-to techniques. And though proficiency with any technique is great and should be celebrated, continuing to push yourself to learn new things and switch it up is a great way to keep the creativity flowing when you're writing music of your own.
This is something Chicago-based musician Juno (who's toured with Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony) stopped by the Reverb studio to talk with us about, and even brought her guitar along to show us a few of her tricks. From ditching the pick for equal parts convenience and arpeggiated style to writing melodies that are easy to sing along to, Juno broke down some of the things that she does to keep her guitar playing unique, creative, and fresh.
