Andy Martin is back in the studio today, and he's revisiting some of the earliest boutique pedals that he ever demoed.
Back when some of these initial demos took place 10 to 15 years ago, these pedals were complete trailblazers in the category—separating themselves from the simpler and more straightforward Boss and DOD pedals with features like oscillating fuzz and clean blend.
Although the boutique pedal market has certainly exploded since then, with tons of new brands cropping up and releasing increasingly innovative effects every year, a lot of these older boutique pedals are still top of the line choices that shouldn't be forgotten. What's even better is that they can be found used on Reverb for under great prices.
