VFE Pedals' Peter Rutter Is Selling His Inventory to Pay for Son's Surgery

On Sunday, VFE Pedals founder Peter Rutter posted a YouTube video announcing the birth of his second son, Nathaniel, along with the closure of VFE pedals.

Because Nate will need multiple surgeries throughout the next year to fix a cleft palate, Peter is selling all of his remaining inventory through his Reverb shop and allowing for discounted pre-orders to finish the half-completed pedals he still has in the works.

While the money he makes will go mostly toward his son's medical expenses, Peter—who also teaches math at Tacoma, Washington's IDEA high school—will be opening a fully stocked lab for his students to build pedals, Arduino circuits, speakers, and other music equipment.

All the pedals currently completed—including the Klein Bottle multiband looper/mixer, Dragon dynamic overdrive, and more—are available through the VFE Pedals Reverb Shop. To learn more about pre-ordering the remaining pedals in production, check out the VFE website.

And if you're interested in contributing toward the medical bills but don't need a pedal, you can go directly to the Rutter family's GoFundMe page.
