Of all the YouTube synth heads making fun and educational videos about synthesizers and electronic music production, BoBeats is one of our absolute favorites. He's able to go deep without being pedantic, and his love of the instruments and the creative processes they open up is apparent in all of his videos.
For Superbooth 2019, we dispatched Mr. Beats to the Berlin synth show, to benefit from his personal explorations of the convention floor and the surrounding events. While he's playing the latest machines and talking with their builders, he'll be uploading videos to his YouTube channel, and we'll be sharing them here. Keep checking back to find his newest demos, reviews, and jams.

Looking back on last weekend's convention, Bo shares some of his favorite lesser-known synths and synth brands that impressed him at the show, including: Din-Sync, Mind Music Labs' ELK platform, Tangible Waves' AE Modular, IK Multimedia's UNO Drum, E-RM's Polygogo, and Enjoy Electronics' Reminder effects unit.
Dupreq's Stylophone line of touch-sensitive, stylus-playable analog synthesizers have won fans for their unique charms, but the new Stylophone GENR-8 levels up in a big way with MIDI and CV connectivity. Watch Bo explore the new synth now (which you can already find and pre-order on Reverb.)
Korg's new Minilogue XD Module offers the same 4-voice polyphony as the keyboard-equipped version released earlier this year. But in this video, Bo shows off one of its cooler functions—combining with another XD to create an 8-voice synthesizer. Watch his video above and learn more about the XD module and Korg's brand-new Volca NuBass in our coverage here.
