Moog Music has announced the release of a new iOS synth app which recreates the classic Moog Model 15. The company’s second iPad app in five years works on a patch-based design and allows users to navigate an expansive landscape of knobs and switches connected to faithful renditions of the original’s sounds. Oscillators, filters, and resonance are all accessible through an intuitive tap-and-zoom interface taking users from one module to the next with a finger swipe.
The best part? The $10,000 original comes in at a much friendlier $30 in app form. It’s currently available on an iPad Air or better operating on iOS 9.3. The app is also available on iPhone 6 and up, but best of luck trying to connect patch cables on a phone screen without throwing it out a window.
