JHS Releases Ruby Red and Calhoun

In a flash announcement, JHS revealed two new signature artist pedals yesterday: The JHS Ruby Red and the JHS Calhoun. Check out the specs and demo videos below. Click the links to pre-order to experience one (or both) for yourself.

JHS Ruby Red

The Ruby Red is a new signature pedal built with Butch Walker (SouthGang and Marvelous 3 member, tireless producer). The dual circuit enclosure features a JHS SuperBolt circuit on the left side (with standard Volume, Tone and Drive knobs) and a two-stage boost circuit on the right (with a single Boost knob).

The SuperBolt circuit is meant to feel like a characterful amp on its own, with a "+" toggle switch that allows you to tweak that character for more sag, compression and gain.

The right side toggle switch allows you to choose the order of the circuits (i.e. boost into SuperBolt or SuperBolt into boost). And, of course, the whole affair is true bypass.

JHS Calhoun

The Calhoun is a collaboration with Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Mudcrutch, Dirty Knobs). This will initially be a more limited run.

Like the Ruby Red, the Calhoun is a 2-in-1 pedal, featuring an overdrive circuit on the left (with Volume, Drive, Treble and Bass controls) and a fuzz circuit on the right (with Volume, Fuzz, Bias and EQ). As with the Ruby Red, a toggle switch in the middle lets you change the order of these circuits in your signal chain.
