Gibson's appetite for Slash guitars has grown to include a signature series of Les Pauls and two J-45 acoustics.
The Slash Core Collection Les Pauls are all '50s Standards (like those released last year), with four different Burst finishes available on their AAA flamed maple tops: November Burst, Appetite Burst, Vermillion Burst, and Anaconda Burst.
The Slash '50s Standards have a C-shape neck profile and come equipped with some signature appointments, including: the "Scully" drawing on the back of the headstock, Slash's set of Ernie Ball strings, and the man in the hat's own SlashBucker pickups (like the previously released Seymour Duncan Slashbuckers, which use a different winding spec to bring vintage character out of newly built Alnico 2 bar magnets).
All of these Slash Core Collection models are standardized options for previous Slash signature guitars and Custom Shop creations like the Anaconda Burst Plain Top and Anaconda Burst Flame Top, Slash Signature Sunburst and Custom Shop Slash Sunburst, the 2013 Vermillion Burst, and the Appetite for Destruction Custom Shop and Standard models.
The J-45s are also Standard models with some added Slash flair: the November Burst features the same warm autumnal finish of the LP, while the Vermillion Burst shares the bright reddish orange of the new Vermillion Les Paul.
The Bozeman, Montana–built J-45s have a flatter and faster fingerboard radius (at 16") than regular models and include a Custom LR Baggs pickup, as well as the same Scully drawing behind the headstocks.
