EHX Goes After Apple with New Wireless Ear Buds

August has already been a month loaded with product announcements over at Electro-Harmonix, with the unveiling of the brand's new BASS9 Polyphonic Bass Machine at the beginning of the month and MOD 11 Modulator soon after. Just today, EHX added another release into the mix—this one proving that the brand isn't entirely focused on effects alone.

Flexing into the home audio realm, EHX presents the new EHX R&B Buds—a pair of wireless bluetooth earbuds that come in a charging case.

EHX R&B Buds True Wireless Bluetooth® Earbuds

After Apple debuted its similar AirPods back in late 2016, many brands have released their own products to contend with the Apple's truly wireless earbud design—especially as more and more modern devices continue to remove the stalwart headphone jack from their new designs.

But this is the first effects company that we've noticed jumping in on the action. In fact, these headphones are a first for Electro-Harmonix.

The closest that the brand has gotten to releasing proper headphones up to this point has been its portable headphone amp—similar, but not quite the same thing.

We're still waiting to hear more details about availability and street price, but from the look of EHX's product release video above, it shouldn't be long before we get those answers. But what do you think? Are you intrigued by pedal company-built truly wireless earbuds? Let us know in the comments below.
