Who needs that pesky bridge pickup anyway? That's what Wes Montgomery was onto back in the 60's when he acquired his L-5 with a single neck humbucker. Made as an homage to that guitar, we present this 2014 Gibson L-5 Wes Montgomery model in a very tasteful sunburst finish. Known as the ultimate jazzbox, this unique L-5 model is special for its single pickup in the neck position, as well as all solid wood construction including a carved spruce top and solid maple back and sides. This example has a well repaired headstock crack so we have priced it accordingly, perfect for the gigging jazz player who can feel comfortable bringing this around town. Signed by James D. Culberson, who oversaw the archtop division after James Hutchins at the Gibson Custom Shop. Serial #12754001, comes with the original case, no COA is included.
