PLEASE NOTE: By purchasing, you acknowledge and agree to all terms outlined in this shop's description.
The BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive is a classic, ultra-affordable guitar effects pedal originally released in 1981. Famous for its asymmetrical clipping circuit, it delivers the warm, smooth distortion of an overdriven tube amp without compromising your picking dynamics. Pedal only.
- Asymmetrical Clipping: Replicates the natural growl and harmonic richness of a driven tube amplifier.
- 3-Knob Layout: Simple, intuitive controls for Level (volume), Tone (brightness/warmth), and Drive (amount of distortion).
- Amp Boosting: While it can act as a standalone overdrive, it is legendary for boosting tube amplifiers. Setting the Level high and Drive low tightens up the low-end on high-gain amps and pushes solos to cut through the mix.
- EQ Profile: Features a focused midrange and cuts slightly less low end than its main rival, the Ibanez Tube Screamer, while producing both even and odd-order harmonics.
