The Ultimate Vintage Jazz Setup
Up for sale is a vintage 1960s Gretsch Round Badge drum kit in the classic "Progressive Jazz" configuration. The sizes are 20x14" bass drum, 14x14" floor tom, and 12x8" rack tom. Thanks to a professional overhaul, the kit functions smoothly and presents exceptionally well, retaining its 60+ years of aged vintage wood tone.The Aesthetic: Gray Glass Glitter (AKA Rootbeer Glass Glitter)
The kit was professionally re-wrapped in a deep Gray Glass Glitter, also known among collectors as Rootbeer Glass Glitter. This rich finish captures the vibe of an aged vintage wrap and looks very close to the "Twilight Glass" finish found on modern Gretsch USA Custom kits. For reference, the configuration and color are highly reminiscent of the iconic setup used by Art Blakey.A Fully Overhauled Player's Kit
This setup has been updated to reliable mechanical standards, making it ready for the stage or studio without the typical hardware headaches of older kits:

• The Toms (12" & 14"): Both feature original 1960s Round Badges with original rounded-over bearing edges. They were repainted on the inside and the paper tags were removed by a previous owner. The 12" tom had a few historical holes neatly plugged before the re-wrap. The 14" floor tom legs and mounts are high-quality reissues.
• The Bass Drum (20"): The original interior factory tag is fully intact. It features a vintage Gretsch factory rail mount (replacing a previous DW mount using the same factory holes) and a newer, solid version of the Gretsch cymbal mount shell. An original vintage cymbal arm is included.
• Hardware & Hoops: All hoops on all three drums have been upgraded to aftermarket die-cast hoops. All chrome hardware is clean and functions like new.

Heads & Visual Notes

• Batter Heads: Equipped with freshly installed Evans G12 Coated heads on the batter sides for a warm, resonant jazz punch.
• Bass Drum Reso: The kit is being sold with the black bass drum resonant head visible in the photos.
