Neumann M 149 Tube Microphone (2021) – Excellent+ Condition – Complete Package

For sale is my 2021 Neumann M 149 Tube, one of the finest tube condenser microphones ever made. It is in Excellent+ condition, functions flawlessly, and has been meticulously cared for.

This microphone has only been used a handful of times in my smoke-free, climate-controlled home studio to record solo violin. It has never been used in a commercial studio, rental environment, or for live sound. When not in use, it has always been stored safely in its original Neumann aluminum case in the same climate-controlled environment.

As a professional violinist, I chose the M 149 after comparing many of the world’s finest microphones because I found it produced the most natural, rich, and three-dimensional recordings of my instrument. The warmth, depth, detail, and realism are exceptional. It captures every nuance while remaining smooth, open, and incredibly musical. It is equally outstanding on vocals, piano, strings, acoustic instruments, chamber music, and full orchestral recordings.

The M 149 features Neumann’s legendary K49 dual-diaphragm capsule paired with its premium tube amplifier, delivering exceptional detail, an open and natural top end, a rich midrange, deep, controlled bass, and an exceptionally low self-noise floor. It has earned its reputation as one of the world’s premier tube microphones and remains a favorite in many of the finest recording studios around the world.

Reason for Selling

I am simplifying my recording setup and reducing the amount of equipment I own. Because I travel frequently, I have decided to move to a much more portable recording solution.

After comparing dozens of world-class microphones over the years, however, I have never found anything that quite matches the exceptional sound quality of the Neumann M 149. It remains one of the most natural, lifelike, and musically satisfying microphones I have ever used.

Rather than letting this microphone sit unused in my studio, I would much rather see it go to someone who will truly appreciate and enjoy it.

I also own a second Neumann M 149 Tube microphone that has been used alongside this one as a carefully maintained stereo pair. This listing is for one microphone only.

If you’re interested in purchasing the pair, please feel free to contact me.

The microphone is guaranteed to be fully functional and to match the description and photographs in this listing. It will be packed with great care to ensure it arrives safely.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I want the buyer to be completely confident and delighted with this exceptional microphone.
