The Neumann M 149 multipattern tube condenser microphone is a modern twist on the vintage Neumann M 49 microphone. The legendary K47/K49 capsule hits a triode tube circuit for some colorful gain, followed by a contemporary transformerless solid-state output stage for remarkably low self noise, wide bandwidth, and high SPL handling. This versatile multipattern mic is perfectly at home in all sorts of applications, but lead vocals are its real specialty. Its present high end and inviting midrange capture the human voice in a way that must be heard to be believed.
