This is a very cool, unique, and heavily modified '80s Sonor Phonic Plus 10x10" rack tom

Before I purchased it, the previous owner made some pretty extensive modifications, which I've listed below:

  • Unwrapped and finished in white gloss paint over primer
  • Original badges removed, original vent holes filled, and SQ2 badges installed
  • Vent hole added below tom mount

The drum has been gigged regularly, and has battle scars to show it. The finish could be very easily touched up if you wish, or would make an excellent re-wrap candidate! In addition, the chrome is not perfect (though it's in great shape for its age) with some dings, pitting, and mild plating loss in isolated spots.

Shipping will be expensive. These drums are heavy thanks to the deep sizes and Sonor's legendary overbuilt hardware and shells. Local pickup in Chicagoland is encouraged.

Check out my Reverb shop for additional vintage Sonor and Ludwig drums and more! I have additional Phonic Plus drums from this kit and another for sale. I also have a second bass drum from this kit which I will be parting out as well. https://reverb.com/shop/the-alpha-quadrant
