Vintage 1993 GMS Grand Master Series Drumset Cherry Sunburst Lacquer 22",14",12",10"

This listing is for a date-stamped, vintage 1993 GMS "Grand Master Series" drum set. All four drums are date stamped "10/1993", and are made up out of 8-ply all-maple shells.

The finish is GMS factory applied "cherry sunburst" lacquer with a clear polyurethane coating.

Sizes are; 16" deep x 22" wide bass drum (serial # 2185). 14" deep x 14" wide floor tom (serial # 2185), 9" deep x 12" wide tom-tom (serial # 2183), and a 8" deep x 10" wide tom-tom (serial # 2182). All four drums have gorgeous clear maple natural interiors.

This is an earlier drum set, made when the GMS drum company was only a few years old. During this period, the GMS company used their own proprietary solid brass "tube" lugs on all of the drums. The lugs are finished in lacquered brass. All of the other metal fittings are Pearl drum company parts. The BD claw hooks, the tom holder assemblies and the bass drum spurs all Pearl parts and are chrome plated. The metal rims and all of the tension rods are generic models. The 10" and 12" toms have original Purecussion RIMS isolation mounts, while the floor tom has a fully encircled Purecussion floor tom cradle. The cradle comes with three floor tom legs.

The overall appearance is really stunning! The GMS drum company was world renown for having some of the nicest lacquer finishes in the industry. There are some small scratches in the lacquer on either side of the bass drum (see picture # 21). Also, the brass lugs on all four drums have some minor surface wear on a few of the solid brass tube lugs.
