Here is what we have here;

Correct tarback pickups Pat. # 2,737,842

Note; the original bridge position Tarback was microphonic. It comes with the guitar, but has been replaced with one of our BetterBuckers Alnico V. A $275 value pickup!

Pots; Tone pickup has readable pot date of 16th week of 1976

Original case.

Guitar in overall VG condition with some buckle/player wear evident.

Great player and rings bright acoustically like a good vintage guitar should!


Here's what has been repaired/ and or replaced;

-Professionally repaired headstock

-extra hole between volume knobs where previous mini toggle was

-evidence of non original solder on volume pots

-broken neck pickup plastic surround

-bridge pickup cover replaced

-Schaller tuners (replaced)

-strap buttons (originals come in case.

*note- pickups are out of phase, but this was common to come from the factory like this.

The 1976 Gibson Explorer LE (Limited Edition) is one of the most collectible post-1950s Gibson solid-body guitars. It marked the return of the Explorer after the original 1958–1959 Korina run and is considered the first modern reissue.
