GLN12E NS

The Takamine GLN11E NS Acoustic Electric Guitar in Natural Satin is an exceptional instrument designed for players who appreciate the nuances of sound that come with a carefully crafted guitar. Featuring the NEX body shape, this model provides a unique balance between the tonal depth of a larger guitar and the comfort of a smaller body, making it versatile for a variety of musical genres.

Design and Craftsmanship

The GLN12E NS boasts a NEX body shape, which is akin to a scaled-down jumbo. This design offers a rich, robust sound with a strong midrange, making it perfect for vocal accompaniment. The top, back, and sides are all made from okoume, a wood known for producing a sweet, midrange-focused tone with plenty of warmth, thanks to the reduced string tension from the shorter 630mm scale length. This warmth is enhanced by the natural satin finish, which also gives the guitar a refined, understated look.

Playability

The mahogany neck and jatoba fingerboard ensure a smooth playing experience. The shorter scale length not only contributes to the warmer tone but also makes fretting easier, especially for players with smaller hands or those who prefer a less tense feel from their strings. The nut width of 42.8mm is comfortably wide, allowing for clear note separation—ideal for fingerstyle playing.

Electronics

Equipped with Takamine’s TP-3G electronics, this guitar is stage-ready out of the box. The preamp system includes a 3-band EQ to shape your sound precisely and a built-in chromatic tuner, which is incredibly convenient for live performances and ensures you're always in tune. The electronics are designed to capture the natural acoustic sound of the guitar and amplify it faithfully.
