2005 Epiphone Broadway Natural w/Case

This Broadway is in very good shape overall and has clearly been well cared for. The body is clean with only minor polish swirl across the top and one very small ding on the lower bout — you'd have to look for it. The gold hardware shows tarnishing on the tuners and tailpiece, which is par for the course with gold-plated hardware of this era and doesn't affect function at all. The metal "E" emblem on the pickguard is missing, which is one of the most common things to happen on older Epiphones — the adhesive gives out and they simply fall off. Everything else is original to the best of our assessment: pickups, tuners, bridge, Frequensator tailpiece, electronics, and knobs are all as they left the factory.

The Epiphone Broadway is a full-size 17" hollowbody archtop that's been part of the Epiphone catalog in one form or another since 1931 — one of the longest-running model names in the guitar world. The Korean-built reissue, produced from 1997 onward, stays faithful to the big-body jazz box formula: laminated maple body with a select spruce top, a set maple neck, and a pair of Alnico Classic humbuckers running through the classic two-volume, two-tone control layout. The Frequensator split trapeze tailpiece is a distinctly Epiphone design dating back to the 1940s, and it remains one of the most recognizable visual signatures on any archtop. Gold hardware, multi-ply binding, the "Vine of Life" headstock inlay, and Grover tuners round out the appointments on a guitar that punches well above its price point. This is a purpose-built jazz guitar with a big, warm voice and the kind of projection that only a full-depth hollowbody can deliver.
